Lemon Loveliness

Good morning on this lovely sunny Monday!......I've been out and about a bit doing a food shop and went to pick up my new glasses and am feeling very happy and looking forward to more sunny days!

Got me in the mood so i'm listing a few pretties today and will be starting with this pretty vintage 1960's melamine tray decorated with a swathe of pretty yellow Summer flowers!

This is a true vintage mid century tray in excellent used condition and carries the MALLOD stamp on the back ~ it measures approx 18" x 13" and is perfect to either use as a tray to sit on your lap with a cuppa and a sandwich or equally you could display it standing on a shelf leaning against a wall!

This is the loveliest hand painted vintage watercolour beautifully presented with an array of the prettiest Spring flowers painted with stunning realism on a black ground then framed and glazed front ~ measures approx 27cm x 22cm in excellent condition ~ now in my shop....xx

Then there is this gorgeous hand worked picture which is a true vintage piece dating from the 1930-40's era which I picked up from one of my treasure hunting trips a few weeks ago!

It depicts a quintessentially English Country Cottage scene with gardens and a beautiful backdrop of hills! It has been hand sewn in a multitude of colourful threads and worked to an excellent standard of needlework!

The picture frame measures approx 13" x 11.5" inches ~ it will need string and pins adding to the back to hang it up ~ it is in lovely vintage condition oozing with original authentic old world charm.

Chaos and Brick Dust

The house is in a complete and utter mess with a layer of red brick dust on every surface but the builder Tim our neighbour and Dave my hubby who is helping with the building work are making good progress and have worked solidly all weekend! I've had no internet but I can see light at the end of the tunnel!....soon I will have my new larger extended hallway, new open staircase and a lovely Art Deco stained glass oak front door with seedy glass side windows!....can't wait!.....I need to find a lovely hall stand now that the hall will be large enough to accommodate one!....that will be my next hunting task!....thats it for this weekend...here are a few pics of before and during......i'll post pics of the completed work next week.  So i'll wish you all a Good Night.

Flutterby Butterfly!

Just have to show you this pair of gorgeous vintage framed mounted Butterflies!....I was having a root around the back of my wardrobe and found these beauties!

Just the perfect pair to brighten up my afternoon and the sun has decided to shine too!....question is where to display them as my lounge walls are rather full!

I've been mooching about on Pinterest a lot today as well as rooting around cupboards looking for inspiration and ideas for my e-commerce shop. I am so in love with pinterest it is amazing but extremely time consuming and I do feel a bit guilty sometimes as I think I may be neglecting my children! lol.........not really they will just have to raid the fridge and biscuit barrel until I get round to cooking tea!
Sooooo true!

Rowan has just asked me again whats for tea? so I better get off this computer and go rustle something up!

Bye for now and take care

It's All About The Door!

I've been out to B&Q for door furniture and other bits and pieces we need for the new front door we ordered which is arriving today! I'm armed with a shopping list as long as my arm!....I had no idea when you buy a door you need to buy so many different bits and pieces for it and I didn't realise until it was too late that the type of door we are getting you can't have a letter box  unless its right at the bottom near the ground which will spoil the effect so we're having to get a wall mounted lockable letter box which is just adding more and more to the cost!

Whilst I was there I had a look for some window boxes......I found these lovely pics on Pinterest for inspiration !

I need to pop out again soon as Rowan wants to go and see some fish at Pets at Home and a quick visit to Argos........we have been looking at some garden pools and we may get this one......
By for now and enjoy the sun!

Building Work Resumes!

Well its back to work for me today after the Easter break but i'm not getting much done as I keep dreaming of my new summer house that i'm going to get this Summer for our back garden and can't stop looking at pretty pictures on Pinterest!
These are so lovely !

I need to plant lots of pretty flowers in pots too!

I'll also paint mine possibly like this....

All I need to do is find the right one for me and order it....but while all this is going on in my head I still have the builder banging away taking out old bricks ready to build a small hall way extension.....I have chosen this front door which is in a light Oak with elegant geometric stained glass.....we are getting some glass panels made up to fit in two side windows too.....

I'll post pics of the work as it progresses....

My summer house will also work as a small photography studio as I am always snapping pics of my stock items that I list in my Etsy and Ebay store and need a place that's just for me as at present I use the lounge or our bedroom to take photos which isn't ideal.

Dave my husband works from home too as a Property Consultant and is at present squashed in our kids play room/my store room which isn't ideal for his business so I am going to have to empty the spare room upstairs and make this into his office....at present it is crammed full of my stuff including bits of old furniture and collections of mine that I don't want to sell but have no room to display. The only problem I have is where to store the stuff that I take out of the spare room???? my shed is already full so I have a plan.....apart from selling more of my hoard from the garden shed I could also store some under tarpaulin in the garden and just try and sort through it all and sell more of the bits and pieces that I no longer need as I do have rather too much!.....I will keep you posted on my progress.

I think that's enough of my ramblings for one day so please enjoy your day and hope you can pop back another time for a catch-up.

Penny Farm

We just had a lovely time visiting a few rescued horses and ponies at Penny Farm!...it was quite sunny so a lot of the horses were out in the fields but we did get a chance to meet some new arrivals and stroke them!
